Current Involvement
- Research Assistant, Department of Engineering Education (Feb 2017-Present)
- Volunteer research assistant on research study to improve engineering students learning and retention
- Roles include:
- Analyzing & coding data from interviews & survey responses
- Assisting in the writing of conference paper and journal article
- CEAS Engineering Diplomats, Co-Founder (Aug 2016-Present)
- Co-founded a student planning committee under the guidance of CEAS and the Joint Co-op Institute
- Purpose is to prepare CEAS students for the merging of the EE & ME senior classes with our partner university, Chongqing University, in China
- Roles include:
- Developing partnerships with CEAS student organizations, such as CEAS Tribunal, SWE, UC departments like UC International, and community partners, such as Cincinnati Chinese Chamber of Commerce
- Planning and co-planning events both CEAS focused and university-wide, including info sessions, cultural food events, and UC Worldfest events
- Developing initiatives, like the peer mentorship program for CQU & UC CEAS students, which will be implemented at the beginning of the Fall 2017 semester.
- CEAS Equity and Inclusion Committee, Undergrad Student Liaison (Sept 2016 – Present)
- Prepare CEAS students for an increasingly global society, increase the number and retention of underrepresented students, faculty and staff, and enhance diversity relationships with the larger Cincinnati region
- Roles include:
- Attending monthly meetings with faculty & staff in CEAS
- Assisting in planning & executing workshops, seminars, and other diversity activites
- Enact initiatives aimed at diversity & inclusion, such as "CEAS is Listening", Town Halls, and book clubs.
- Lambda Society, Lock-in Chair (Feb 2017 – Present)
- The Lambda Society strives to empower women of color through community service and programming to achieve within their personal and professional endeavors, as well as extend minority women leadership beyond the UC community
- As Lock-in Chair, Roles include:
- Planning the 2017-2018 Lambda Lock-In
- Assist in inductions of new members
- Connect with possible future Lambda Women
- BEARchats, Language Partner(Sept 2014- Present)
- Creates cross-cultural friendships and enhances student understanding of the University of Cincinnati's diverse student body
- As language partner, roles include,
- Meeting weekly with partner
- Attend social, academic & community service events together
- Learning and sharing about each other's cultures
Past Involvement
- ROAR Campus Tour Guide (Jan 2015-Aug 2017)
- ROAR Guides are the faces of UC to prospective students and parents
- Roles Include:
- Giving weekly tours of campus, as well as during special events such as Open Houses and Honors Bearcat Brunches.
- Through this role, I was selected to be featured in UC’s “Face of UC: ROAR Guides” Promotional Video.
- AACRC Choir, Member (Aug 2014-Apr 2017)
- Foundation of the choir is rooted in a commitment to create an atmosphere where students have an outlet to express their artistic talents.
- Activities Include:
- Semesterly concerts on UC campus
- Various concerts and shows around Ohio at venues such as churches, talent shows, competitions, etc
- Emerging Ethnic Engineers, Member (Aug 2014 – Aug 2017)
- Comprehensive, nationally respected program which seeks to increase the number of African-American, Latino/a, and Native American students in the College of Engineering while helping such students achieve excellence in college and beyond
- Participants:
- Complete summer institute before start of freshman year

- Tutor local middle school and high school students during Math Night events
- ACM-W, Secretary (June 2015 – May 2016)
- International organization that supports, celebrates, and advocates for the full engagement of women in all aspects of the computing field
- As a secretary for ACM-W, a women’s computing organization, I've
- Kept meeting notes and sent out correspondence through ListServ and email
- Helped in planning two main initiatives of ACM-W: DigiGirlz Day and Bearcat Coders.
- Background Information: DigiGirlz Day is a day-long event, held at multiple Microsoft locations worldwide, designed to provide high school girls with a better understanding of what a career in technology looks like. ACM-W plans the Cincinnati event in collaboration with Microsoft. Bearcat Coders is a program ACM-W created, now sponsored by Google, where UC students help Hughes High School students learn basic programming. It takes place on weekdays each semester.

- As a participant of the intitute, I:
- Attended a leadership retreat that focused on shaping my leadership involvement at UC
- Completed a service project with my class going through the institute.

- Research mentorship that paired undergraduate students interested in research with current students doing research
